Imitating the dog presents
NOCTURNES
Written and Directed by Andrew Quick and Pete Brooks
Selected as part of the British Council Showcase 2017, internationally acclaimed imitating the dog’s latest production is a multi-media twist on a 50s spy thriller set during the height of the cold war.
Two operatives holed up in a Berlin apartment in the Russian Zone await instructions. As time passes their relationship to each other and to the orders they receive from their superiors falls apart. Performed on what appears to be a film soundstage, two actors voice a film they can’t see and never acknowledge. But who is in control? And as the film gathers pace, can the past be changed by present-day actions?
"imitating the dog is still, to me, one of the UK’s most interesting companies" The Observer
"imitating the dog is not only a company without imitators, it is currently without peer" The Guardian
