ADJUSTMENTS YM:D welcomes two emerging artists to present work in progress for your consideration. Each artist will receive 30 minutes of stage time in which to share their current piece and then chat with you in the hopes of receiving your thoughts, feelings and feedback. Hosted by MÓTUS Assistant Director Chris Bradley, the evening’s discussions will be sparked off by a panel of arts professionals, enabling the participating artists to develop their work.
A successful performer for 20 years, Stuart Waters is making his debut as an independent artist with a powerful and topical dance theatre solo. Rockbottom is a moving self-portrait of personal struggle with depression and addiction. Combining bold story-telling with highly physical choreography and humour, Waters skyrockets between existential angst and irony to develop his theme, exploring with heart-warming honesty the lonely road to addiction and the roles of resilience and support in recovery. The result is a thought-provoking work and a reflective tool for everyone concerned with mental well-being.
Rockbottom contains depictions of simulated sexual activity and references to drug and alcohol consumption. Not suitable for under 16's
