Neil Beardmore is a New Bradwell based artist, writer and musician. Having exhibited at Stantonbury several times since his first way back in 1988, Neil's present work combines abstract along with figurative work and landscapes. Influences in the abstract world include Rothko and Sean Scully. Surprisingly, abstract painting turns out to be more challenging than representational work: Neil needs to spend time letting the images form -- sometimes over weeks and months even years in some cases, when he suddenly gets a new vision for an old idea.
Schiele greatly influences his figurative work, and Turner, his landscapes.
Neil looks forward to the exhibition of Artemisia Gentileschi's paintings next month at the National Gallery.
